Wathamstow Now is a community media project for the Walthamstow area.
Sometimes it feels like we only learn about where we live when we hear bad things about it on the news. Distributed direct to homes and via community spaces Walthamstow Now magazine sums up everything that’s best about our corner of London.
Each issue shows what’s best about Walthamstow. It introduces you to the people who are making a difference in the community right now, from young entrepreneurs to local leaders and opinion formers. It helps you uncover the best events, the best restaurants and the best places to visit. If you need help, Walthamstow Now tells you where to find it and who to ask.
10,000 copies of each issue of the magazine are distributed to households and at community venues. Three pilot issues of the magazine have been published in 2010. We are currently seeking funding to continue publishing the print magazine while continuing to maintain an online presence.
Walthamstow Now is published by Walthamstow-based social enterprise, Social Spider Community Interest Company.

Good luck! It’s a great looking website and I’ll look out for the print issue. I hope to see an affectionate overview of what’s happening in our borough that doesn’t ignore the problems we face, It’s tough finding a balance but I’m sure do-able. Now, come on, funders! We need a magazine like this.
