Outstanding A level results for local college

successful students

Students of Leyton Sixth Form College, Waltham Forest, are celebrating this week as over 97% of them passed all of their A levels and BTECs, with more than a third of these passes achieved the highest possible grades. The results for AS were also excellent, having a 5% improvement on the previous year. Overall, the college saw 1,000 A and B grades awarded to its pupils.

One of the highest achieving pupils was Samir Buth from Leytonstone. He was awarded two of the new A* grades for Mathematics and Physics and two As in Business Studies and Further Mathematics.

The student, who is to study Civil Engineering at University College London, said: “It has been a wonderful two years at Leyton Sixth Form. The support has been excellent and the teachers have been lovely.”

The college, noted for its diversity, teaches over 2,000 pupils who study 33 A level subjects and vocational courses, including courses in Business, Child Care and IT.

Their achievements come in the wake of other good news: “Coming shortly after a very positive OFSTED report these results are a strong evidence of an already good college doing everything possible to improve further the qualifications gained by everyone who comes here” said Principal Kevin Watson.

“I am gratified that the talents and hard work of our students, and the expertise and support provided by our staff, have been so richly and deservedly rewarded” he added.
